What if walls could talk? Here at Kampus Ukrida, they would whisper tales of transformation and growth. Kampus Ukrida, abbreviated as UKRIDA, isn’t just a cluster of buildings. It’s a living testament to the power of vision and dedication. Established on January 20, 1967, it began its journey as Universitas Kristen Djaja. Born from the initiative of leaders within the West Java Indonesian Christian Church (GKI West Java Region), Kampus Ukrida was envisioned as an extension of the existing BPK Penabur schools. Its creation was championed by influential figures like Prof. Dr. G.A. Siwabessy, the Minister of Health at the time, and Mrs. Rev. Rumambi-Kolopita. Initially, classes were held at the Gunung Sahari Campus in Central Jakarta. However, by 1985, Kampus Ukrida transitioned to its current location at Campus I in Tanjung Duren. The university continued to expand, adding Campus II in Kebon Jeruk for the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in 2002, and later, Campus III in Kelapa Gading for the Faculty of Economics and Business. Kampus Ukrida has blossomed into a multi-campus institution, boasting two teaching hospitals. Five distinct faculties house fourteen diverse study programs. Among these are two pioneering programs: Applied Bachelor Optometry, the first of its kind in Indonesia, and a Diploma in Nursing. Kampus Ukrida doesn’t simply focus on academics. It also cultivates essential soft skills, preparing students for successful careers. The university’s motto, “Lead to Impact,” reflects its commitment to shaping future leaders who will make a tangible difference in the world.
