The Parc des Impressionnistes is located on the banks of the Seine. It faces the Ile des Impressionnistes. This park completes the development of the new Rueil-sur-Seine district. That happened in 1996.
The park covers 1.2 hectares. Its charm comes from its water features and perennials. A small bandstand reminds us of Claude Monet’s gardens at Giverny. You will also see wisteria, lilacs, and geraniums. Many plants offer a wide range of flowers through the seasons.
Gardeners found their inspiration in the color palettes of the Impressionists. They aimed to create floral compositions that resemble Impressionist paintings. Perennials mix with shrubs across the park. The trail leads to a water garden. Its wooden walkway recalls paintings by Auguste Renoir and Claude Monet. Both painted “La Grenouillère” nearby.
The Parc des Impressionnistes lets visitors see landscapes that inspired 19th-century artists. These artists were fascinated by how light played on the Seine. They depicted industrial activities and river transport. They also painted boating and riverside restaurants. The Hameau Fournaise was popular on the opposite bank. Renoir painted his famous “Déjeuner des Canotiers” there.

The Parc des Impressionnistes is open from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM between May 1st and September 30th. From October 1st to April 30th, it is open from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Entry is free.
