Twenty years ago a small team from St Barnabas North Finchley had a vision. They wanted to pray and worship. They wanted to see what Jesus would do. That vision became Oakleigh Community Church.

Oakleigh Community Church isn’t just a building. It’s a story of pursuing God’s presence. It’s a story of loving the community extravagantly. It’s a story of making disciples of Jesus. This church stands as a testament to that unwavering commitment.

Reverend Mike Pavlou a market trader at the time played a pivotal role. He and his team planted the seed that grew into this vibrant congregation. Some of the original team are still here. They’ve witnessed the growth and seen the church flourish. Oakleigh Community Church reflects their dedication and perseverance.

The church isn’t simply about Sunday services. It’s about nurturing families. It’s about equipping believers to be disciple-makers. It’s about sending missionaries out into the world. These values are woven into the fabric of Oakleigh Community Church. They shape its identity and mission.

The church is a hub for missional engagement. It provides services for all ages. It even plans to serve children and families in the care system. This reflects the community’s spirit of service and compassion.

In September 2024 Oakleigh Community Church added a second Sunday morning service. The original service is at 9am. The new service starts at 11am. This demonstrates the church’s growth and its commitment to meeting the needs of its expanding congregation. The church also continues to pray about future church planting opportunities. They hope to continue the legacy started two decades ago.

Oakleigh Community Church is more than just a place of worship. It is a living testament to faith. It’s a hub of community. It’s a beacon of hope in the world. It is a place where people pursue God’s presence. It is a place where they love extravagantly. It is a place where they make many disciples of Jesus. This is Oakleigh Community Church.
