The Molkerei Gebrüder Pfund is the “Most Beautiful Milk Shop in the World”. The Guinness Book of Records gave it this title in 1997. Its unique design attracts visitors from everywhere. The Pfund brothers founded it in 1880.

Dresden is home to a rare 230-year-old Japanese camellia. The plant lives in a heated, mobile glasshouse at Pillnitz Castle. The glasshouse regulates the plant’s living conditions. From February to April, around 35,000 pink flowers bloom.

The Green Vault holds Europe’s largest collection of treasures. Augustus the Strong, ruler of Saxony, started it. The collection includes the “Dresden Green”. This is a naturally irradiated green diamond from India.

The bombing of Dresden was very controversial. From February 13 to 15 in 1945, 800 bombers attacked. They dropped some 2,700 tons of explosives. Tens of thousands died in the fires.
