The story begins with a bank. The Banco Inmobiliario envisioned a new town named Villa Devoto. Their plan included a church originally named Santa Rosa. The urban dream faced a harsh reality. The economic crisis of 1890 halted construction. The dream of Iglesia Salesiana San Antonio seemed lost.
Years passed. In 1913 Antonio Devoto stepped in. He acquired the land. He reignited the church’s construction. The Austro-Hungarian architect Marcovich took charge. Artists Luis Boni and Dante Ortolani were tasked with the interior’s art. Iglesia Salesiana San Antonio started to rise again.
