Witness the enduring legacy of First Assembly of God Church. This Dallas landmark isn’t just a building. It’s a vibrant testament to Pentecostal faith. Its story begins long before its current location.

First Assembly of God’s roots trace back to the early 20th-century Pentecostal revival. A key figure is Fred F. Bosworth. He received the baptism of the Holy Spirit in 1906. He later participated in the Azusa Street Revival in Los Angeles. Bosworth arrived in Dallas in 1910. He held evangelistic meetings in what he called the Pentecostal Tabernacle.

In 1912 Maria B. Woodworth-Etter joined Bosworth. She led nightly tent meetings for months. This revival ignited a spiritual fire that shaped First Assembly of God. It became the foundation of the church’s enduring impact. The church’s early years were marked by incredible growth and spiritual fervor.

First Assembly of God became a hub for Pentecostal revival in Dallas. It hosted renowned evangelists. These included Aimee Semple McPherson Smith Wigglesworth and even Dr J.N. Hoover President Herbert Hoover’s cousin.

The church moved to 805 S Peak Street in 1925. In 1930 it launched the “Christ Ambassadors Full Gospel Hour.” This was a pioneering radio broadcast on KRLD. The church became known as the “Full Gospel Church”. It officially adopted the name First Assembly of God in 1937 under Rev. Loren B. Staats. Staats also started “The Full Gospel Herald” a magazine with over 5000 subscribers.

For over forty years pastors like Rev. Henry Alford Rev. Harry Bowley and Rev. Robert D. Rogers served the church. They continued building on the church’s strong spiritual foundation. In 1968 the church moved to Lake Highland and Easton Road. In 1998 Rev. Thomas M. McMahan a member since childhood became pastor. He oversaw the relocation to its current Northwest Highway location. Pastor R. Daniel Enriquez became the church’s leader in 2015.

First Assembly of God continues to thrive today. It remains a beacon of faith in Dallas. It’s a living testament to the power of the Pentecostal revival and the enduring legacy of its founders. The church’s unwavering commitment to its faith remains a cornerstone of its identity. This dedication is evident in the countless lives touched by the church’s work.
