Here, in San Fernando, Comunidad Cristiana San Fernando stands as a testament to faith. It embodies community spirit and dedication. The story of Comunidad Cristiana San Fernando began about 30 years ago. Several families from the area initiated Sunday gatherings. They met in rented halls in San Fernando. This happened with the agreement of the Northern Zone presbytery. The presbytery was what they were a part of.
Later in the 1990s, they acquired the Villa María Isabel School. Today, it is called the Escuela de la Comunidad Cristiana. “Comunidad Cristiana” is what was known as the Charismatic Renewal Movement in the 70s. The church believes in one God, the Father. He is the Creator of everything. They believe that Jesus is His Son. Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary through the Holy Spirit. His story is narrated in the four Gospels. He died for our sins. He rose from the dead. He sits at the right hand of the Father. He will return one day to judge the living and the dead.
Comunidad Cristiana San Fernando believes in the Church as one. It is part of Jesus’ legacy. They guard its unity in the Spirit. Jesus is its highest authority, the Lord. Knowing Jesus changes how we think and live. It makes us part of a larger family, the church. Comunidad Cristiana San Fernando opens its doors. They invite everyone to come closer and get to know them. They do not offer solutions to all problems. But they offer companionship. They walk alongside those searching for God. A God who is near, loves us, and gives meaning to life.
The Escuela de la Comunidad Cristiana has over 50 years of history. It was part of the missionary work. This work was done by the Iglesia de la Unión Evangélica de San Fernando. Initially, it was named Escuela Cristiana Villa María Isabel. The original building grew without a plan. It adapted to the area’s most urgent needs. By the end of 1989, its infrastructure was deteriorating. Authorities considered closing it. They could not afford the necessary expenses.
Comunidad Cristiana San Fernando decided to take over the establishment. They understood the community’s educational needs. They sought clear guidance from God. The challenge was significant. But with the support of the church membership. Also with the support of the Asociación Cristiana Ágape. They developed the essential works. The school continued to function. From 1990, it was called Escuela de la Comunidad Cristiana. It grew in numbers, quality, and prestige. Extracurricular subjects were added. These included English. Christian Orientation and Digital Education enriched the educational development.
In 2010, they inaugurated the secondary school building. It was one block from the original. It was built thanks to the support of the Comunidad’s membership. In 2012, they received the first graduating class. These students completed the 6-year mandatory secondary school. They earned the title of Bachelor. Their focus was on Economics and Administration.
For 27 years, Escuela de la Comunidad Cristiana has developed educational activities. It integrates Region 6 of the General Directorate of Private Schools. The Municipal Education Council of San Fernando considers it a Referent School. This is within the district. It’s based on its level of teaching, compliance, and administrative status. Within the area, it is one of the most chosen by the population. Its educational characteristics are based on training. This includes knowledge and ethical and Christian values.
The Comunidad Cristiana San Fernando has a student body of 800 students. They are in three levels of education. Initial, Primary, and Secondary. It develops its activities in two different buildings. Each is 100 meters apart. Both belong to the Asociación. Liliana Ciuffo, Legal Representative, states that they have experienced certainty. God has helped and sustained them in every need during these 27 years. This work is His. Their trust is and will continue to be in Him.
