“Center of Redutainment”. What does that even mean? Here at Masjid Al-Falah, it means a place of faith, education, and entertainment all rolled into one. Masjid Al-Falah Bambu Apus stands on 5,505 square meters of land. The government of Jakarta built it to improve human development and religious awareness. They wanted to improve both quality and quantity.
The mosque was officially inaugurated on June 20, 1997. The Governor of Jakarta, Bapak H. Surjadi Soedirdja, was there. The city planning department approved the plans in 1995 under number 2635/I-GSB/II/95. Construction permits followed in 1997 with number 00559/IMB/1997.
Let’s step back to a different Masjid Jami Al-Falah. This one is not in Jakarta. It’s in Yogyakarta. This Masjid Jami’ Al-Falah was founded in 1859. It started as a small musholla. A musholla is like a small prayer room. It was only 3×4 meters. It was supported by Bp.
Later, it worked with Muhammadiyah. Muhammadiyah is an Islamic organization. Together they built facilities. This shows how community collaboration can grow a place of worship. Now let’s get back to our Masjid Jami Al-Falah.
Yet another Masjid JAMI’ AL-FALAH exists. This one is in Central Jakarta. It was built in 1968. This Masjid JAMI’ AL-FALAH is a public mosque. It is located on Jl. Cempaka Putih Barat XXI.
This Masjid JAMI’ AL-FALAH has a land area of 263 m2. The building size is 1,733 m2. The land is designated as Wakaf. Wakaf means it is an Islamic endowment. More than 200 people attend. There are three muazins and three khotibs. Muazins are those who call to prayer. Khotibs are those who deliver sermons.
