The second stage involved adding a sanctuary and sacristies. This expansion significantly increased the church’s capacity to 1230. Archbishop Carr laid the foundation stone in 1912. Archbishop Mannix officially opened the extensions in 1913. The final stage the 130-foot spire and tower remains unbuilt. It’s a silent promise to future generations.
