“Four hundred and sixty meters long” That’s how long Rue Albert is in the 13th arrondissement. Imagine strolling down this Parisian street. Rue Albert wasn’t always Rue Albert. It began life as a path called “rue des Chamaillards” or “rue du Champ-Maillard”. These names referred to an old location. This path connected the rues des Terres-au-Curé and de Tolbiac. It was originally part of Ivry-sur-Seine. In 1863 Paris claimed the path. It finally got its current name in 1896. Why Rue Albert? It’s named after Alexandre Martin. He was a mechanic and politician. He went by the name Albert. Today Rue Albert is home to the Vietnam Cultural Center. Established in 2008 it sits proudly at number 19. Picture yourself walking this historic Parisian street. From its humble beginnings as a path to its modern vibrancy Rue Albert is a testament to Parisian history. The street breathes life into the past. It welcomes you to a captivating journey through time. Rue Albert is more than just a street. It is a story waiting to be discovered. A story echoing with the names of yesteryear.
