Fuhua Secondary School started in 2000. Mr. Lim Boon Heng officially opened it on 10 July 2002. He was a Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office. He was also a Member of Parliament for Jurong GRC.

The school began as a government co-educational school. It was founded in 1999. Fuhua welcomed its first students in 2000.

Fuhua Secondary School has had five principals. Mr. Ong Kian Choon was the founding principal. He led from 1999 to 2004. Mdm Oen Siew Yock then led from 2005 to 2010. Mdm Tan Siew Woon took over from 2011 to 2016. Miss Foong Lai Leong was principal from 2017 to 2023. Mrs. Carol Lim is the current principal since 2024.

The school celebrated its silver jubilee in 2024. In 2009, Fuhua celebrated its 10th anniversary. The indoor sports hall opened then. It encouraged students to be physically active. In 2019, the school celebrated its 20th anniversary. A Heritage Gallery was opened. It displays the school’s history and milestones.

Fuhua Secondary School has several key milestones. In 2007, it gained niche status in robotics. In 2008, it set a Guinness Singapore Record. This was for the largest egg-and-spoon race. In 2011, it got niche status in uniformed groups.

Fuhua Secondary School has a motto: Strive for Excellence. The school crest features an open book and a rising flame. These are against four blue stripes. The book means the school seeks knowledge. The flame shows commitment to learning. The stripes represent the diverse student body.

Red symbolizes passion for the country and learning. Gold stands for striving for excellence. Blue represents unity and shared thoughts. The five stripes on the banner represent morals, intellect, physique, aesthetics and team spirit.

The Fuhua Secondary School uniform is all white. White means purity. Students wear metal epaulettes. These remind them to prepare for the week. The PE attire is a red shirt. “Fuhua” is on the shirt. The school blazer is bright red. Students wear a tie with the blazer. The tie is blue with yellow stripes.

Fuhua Secondary School offers many CCAs. These include sports and performing arts. There are also clubs. Examples are basketball, Chinese orchestra and robotics club.

Fuhua Secondary School also has some special facilities. These include an air rifle range and an aesthetics room. The aesthetics room opened in 2006. There is also a soccer field. A band room exists for the military band.
