Established in 2015, Eke Panuku was a merger. Waterfront Auckland and Auckland Council Property joined forces. The merged entity was briefly Development Auckland. Later, it became Eke Panuku.
Before the merger, Waterfront Auckland revitalized the inner waterfront. They oversaw Wynyard Quarter’s first stage. They also reopened Queens Wharf. Auckland Council Property managed $900 million in assets. It focused on affordable housing. It also focused on town center regeneration.
