Beneath Jakarta’s skyline stands Masjid Al Amanah Dinas Teknis. It achieved national recognition as a Rumah Ibadah Ramah Anak. This translates to a Child-Friendly Place of Worship in 2022.

Masjid Al Amanah received this award during the commemoration of World Children’s Day. Eko Suroyo is the Ketua Umum Masjid. He expressed gratitude for the support from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. He also thanked the Jatibaru community. Their combined efforts contributed to this achievement for Masjid Al Amanah.

Masjid Al Amanah stays open 24 hours. It welcomes not only adults but also provides activities for children. Eko explained that they initiated learning facilities for kids. These include Taman Pendidikan Al Quran and Taman Kanak-kanak Al Amanah. They also formed a youth mosque due to limited activity spaces for children nearby.

Masjid Al Amanah uniquely features a youth mosque and kindergarten. This supports children’s learning and play needs. Various activities ensure children enjoy their rights. Plans include adding a lift and special toilets for children with special needs. Eko hopes that child-friendly mosques will grow across DKI Jakarta. He envisions safe spaces for children to learn and play well.

The Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection also spoke. I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati stressed shared responsibility. Protecting children and fulfilling their rights involves everyone. Her ministry actively addresses issues like violence against women and children. They also work to prevent early marriage. They promote reproductive health for prompt case handling. The goal is to create a child-friendly Indonesia.

Grand Imam Nasaruddin Umar has led green initiatives at Istiqlal Mosque. These include solar panels and water recycling. Istiqlal Mosque is the first green-certified worship place by the World Bank.
