It was built in 1984 to commemorate the university’s 50th anniversary. Its location, right at the heart of the campus, was strategically chosen in line with the future plans for the Seven Ridges Campus. Fukuoka University’s Literature Center Building High-Rise isn’t just a building. It’s a vibrant hub of learning and interaction. The high-rise portion consists of a basement level and a soaring sixteen stories above ground. The first floor houses Plaza 50, a student gathering space created during renovations in August 2006. Plaza 50, its nickname a nod to the 50th anniversary, provides a beautiful, spacious lobby and lounge for students and faculty. It serves not only as a thoroughfare but also as a space for information exchange. Higher up, on the 16th floor, you’ll find Sky Lounge, a restaurant offering breathtaking views of the surrounding area. The low-rise building, connected to the high-rise, houses classrooms, teaching facilities for common education, the entrance center and an information technology center. Faculty research rooms, department head offices, joint research rooms, resource rooms, meeting rooms, and restrooms occupy the high-rise building.
