In 1855 Temenggong Daeng Ibrahim shifted the Johor capital. He moved it from Singapore to Tanjung Puteri. He renamed it Iskandar Puteri. This marked a significant turning point. Numerous projects transformed Nusajaya. Legoland Malaysia Resort a major tourist attraction opened. Puteri Harbour another iconic development emerged. It’s a marina filled with yachts and luxury. Kota Iskandar the administrative centre of Johor State also took shape. It’s a stunning example of Moorish Andalusian architecture. A blend of influences.
In 2016 Sultan Ibrahim renamed Nusajaya. He returned it to its historical name. Iskandar Puteri. The name represents its legacy. It’s a city built on history.
