His leadership during the 1927 Uruguayan championship victory for Rampla Juniors a record-breaking season added to his legendary status.

The Estadio Olímpico Pedro Arispe is particularly picturesque. Two of its sides lack stands. A wall separates the playing field from the Rio de la Plata. Imagine a match day. The roar of the crowd. Rampla Juniors still uses this historic stadium for its Segunda División Uruguaya matches. There have been proposals to build a third stand behind the goal. This would leave only the river side without seating. However these plans haven’t materialized. A popular saying claims that the fourth stand is the Rio de la Plata itself.
