Right here, in 1986, Bethel began as a humble house church. Dr. S.H. Tow nurtured the fledgling congregation, providing spiritual guidance and leadership. The church thrived under his care. In 1988, Bethel Bible Presbyterian Church was officially registered. During these formative years, visiting pastors and elders played a crucial role in shaping the church’s identity. A pivotal moment arrived in 1998 with the arrival of Pastor Stephen Khoo as Resident Pastor. Pastor Khoo served the Bethel Bible Presbyterian Church faithfully until 2011. Then he transitioned to Singapore to take on teaching responsibilities at Far Eastern Bible College. Bethel Bible Presbyterian Church continued to grow. In 2010, Pastor Paul Cheng came to Melbourne. He joined Bethel after serving at Gethsemane BPC in Singapore. Pastor Cheng was ordained at Bethel Bible Presbyterian Church in 2011 and became the Resident Pastor. Bethel Bible Presbyterian Church is deeply rooted in the reformed, fundamental, and Bible-Presbyterian tradition. The church adheres to the Westminster Standards. They preach the entire counsel of God. Bethel Bible Presbyterian Church believes in the Bible’s power to transform lives. Every Sunday, the church comes alive with worship. The service begins at 9:30 am. It features hymns, prayers, scripture readings, and a sermon. Bethel Bible Presbyterian Church is more than just a building.
