Behold the Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ. It stands as a testament to faith and community. This denomination known as PMCC 4th Watch has a unique story.
PMCC 4th Watch was founded in 1972. Arsenio Tan Ferriol established it. He became its executive minister. The church was officially registered in August 1973. This registration is commemorated as its establishment.
The church identifies as the One True Church of Christ. Its beliefs come solely from the Bible. They believe in the Church of Jesus Christ established by a living modern-day Apostle. Their doctrine calls this The 4th Watch.
Arsenio Tan Ferriol was born in Odiongan Romblon. He began his evangelization in the late 1950s. The church separated from the Foursquare Gospel. This North American-based Pentecostal church was where Arsenio trained. He and his brother Arturo were Bible students there.
Before its official registration the church was known as the People’s Missionary Church. Being indigenous the PMCC is independent of Western Pentecostalism.
Domingo Ferriol pioneered one of the first church buildings. It was located in Malagasang Imus Cavite. Arturo Ferriol led the construction of the main church in Marikina.
The church expanded abroad in the mid-1980s. The first foreign church was established in Hong Kong in 1989. That same year it reached North America.
PMCC grew into one of the largest indigenous Pentecostal churches. It has a nationwide presence. By its 50th anniversary PMCC was in 72 countries. It had 1055 local churches. Members are known as missionaries. They visit houses and preach publicly.
PMCC publishes The Word magazine. It broadcasts programs like Oras ng Katotohanan. Its US counterpart is Surer Word. The church owns Life Radio network. It also has Life TV.
In 2023 the church celebrated its 50th anniversary. The celebration took place in New Clark City Athletics Stadium. At least 42000 members attended. Nearly 3000 ministers were present.
PMCC believes the true church was founded on the day of Pentecost. Spiritual gifts continue today. Apostleship is considered the most important gift. It was given to Arsenio Ferriol by Jesus Christ.
The church emphasizes the restoration of spiritual gifts. They define Pentecostal as reverting to the early Christian Church. They prefer to be called Biblical Pentecostalism.
PMCC believes the fourth watch mystery was revealed only to Ferriol. He claimed God commanded him in 1970. This revelation led to the restoration of the original church.
The church believes in the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. They emphasize Jesus’ humanity. They also highlight the Personality of the Holy Spirit. Their teachings involve fulfilling the Great Commission. This includes preaching salvation through Jesus.
PMCC’s media ministry includes Life TV and Life Radio. Oras ng Katotohanan started in the 1980s. Life TV was launched in 2016.
Life Radio broadcasts across Luzon. The church is active in social work. This includes medical disaster response and educational outreach. The Maranatha Bible School International was established in 1975.
