What stories do these walls of Mariana Barangay Hall hold? This is more than just a government office. It is a symbol of community and local governance in Quezon City.

Mariana Barangay Hall stands at 122 4th corner New Jersey Streets. It serves the urban barangay of Mariana. Mariana is part of the middle-class residential area known as New Manila.

Let’s step back in time. Before the 1920s, this area was a hinterland along the San Juan River. Manila was becoming crowded. New developments in San Juan offered a peaceful alternative. Hence, the name New Manila emerged.

In the 1920s, Doña Magdalena Hemady purchased a large estate. She developed it into Manila Heights Subdivision. This was the first gated community outside Manila. Mariana Barangay Hall has seen these transformations.

After World War II, New Manila changed. Schools, churches, and hospitals were built. The gated community opened up. Mixed-use developments replaced large suburban houses. Mariana Barangay Hall adapted to these changes.

The barangay of Mariana was officially established in the 1970s. It was named after Mariana Wilson. Wilson was known for her social activities within the community. Mariana Barangay Hall became the center of this vibrant community.

Today, Mariana Barangay Hall provides essential services. Contact numbers are +632 413-5483 and +632 722-4968. The hall is open Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. It is closed on weekends.

The barangay seal features a green mango. This pays homage to the mango trees planted by Doña Hemady. These trees lined Gilmore Avenue and Broadway Avenue.

Mariana itself is part of Quezon City’s 4th District. In 2020, the population was 11967. The barangay covers an area of 1.66 square kilometers.

The Mariana Barangay Hall is more than just a building. It is a hub for local concerns. Residents voice issues about street parking and garbage collection here. Some even seek help with consumer complaints.
