Perhaps unsurprisingly, Weir Views emerged as its own suburb in 2017. Before then, this area was part of Melton South. The Office of Geographic Names officially recognized Weir Views on February 9, 2017. This change followed a proposal by the City of Melton to create eleven new suburbs.

Weir Views is located 35 kilometers or 22 miles west of Melbourne’s Central Business District. It sits within the City of Melton. This location offers a blend of countryside charm and urban convenience.

The population of Weir Views is growing rapidly. The 2021 census recorded 4,348 residents. Recent estimates suggest the population might be closer to 4,390. This growth is fueled by the development of new residential housing estates.

Weir Views encompasses four main housing estates. These are Seventh Bend, Exford Waters, Opalia, and Toolern Waters. Each estate contributes to the unique character of the suburb.

Exford Waters is home to St Lawrence of Brindisi Catholic Primary School. This school is a branch of St Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Primary School. It provides local families with educational options.

Opalia features a small shopping center called Opalia Plaza. Here, you’ll find a Woolworths supermarket and a Chemist Warehouse pharmacy. A McDonald’s restaurant and various specialty stores and cafes are also available. Opalia Plaza serves as a central hub for residents.

The traditional owners of the land are the Wurundjeri people. Their connection to this area spans generations. Recognizing their history is an important part of understanding Weir Views.

A significant government investment is planned for the area. $518 million will be used to duplicate the rail line between Deer Park and Melton. A new station at Toolern will also be constructed. This project aims to improve transportation to the city and beyond.

Weir Views offers a balanced lifestyle. Residents enjoy the tranquility of the surrounding countryside. They also benefit from easy access to urban amenities. High street retail and the Woodgrove shopping center are nearby.

For those who prefer public transport, Rockbank station is only an 11-minute drive away. From there, Southern Cross is just 45 minutes by train. Weir Views provides convenient connections to Melbourne CBD and the airport.

The Melton Council offers affordable living options. Weir Views is among Melbourne’s most affordable markets. As of January 2019, the median house price was $457,500. The median rental price was $355 per week.

As Weir Views continues to evolve, it retains a strong sense of community. New developments are planned, including a community center and a shopping district. These additions will further enhance the quality of life for residents.
