It’s a beautiful Gothic Revival structure. Grace United Methodist Church was built in 1903. It’s one of the oldest Methodist congregations in Dallas County. In fact it’s the oldest in East Dallas. The church was built on Junius Street. Its construction followed the merger of two older churches. Floyd Street Methodist Church and Haskell Avenue Methodist Church combined. Both served Dallas’s elite in the late 1800s.

W.A. Cann a renowned church architect from St. Louis designed this stunning building. At the time of its completion Grace Methodist Church was the tallest building in Dallas. Its spire and tower dominated the skyline. The sanctuary is breathtaking. Fifteen massive stained glass windows frame the space. They bathe the interior in a kaleidoscope of colors. The church features intricate ornamental stonework and pointed-arch windows. These are classic examples of Gothic Revival architecture. Today the Agape Clinic treats thousands of patients annually. Open Door Preschool prepares non-English speaking children for public school.
