Rehoboth Baptist Church isn’t just a place of worship. It’s a testament to faith and community. Its story begins on May 1 1962. A small group of believers gathered in a former grocery store. Their vision? To establish a Primitive Baptist church. They weren’t alone. Another group joined them forming Rehoboth Baptist Church. Rev RH Howard led this merger.

The congregation soon outgrew its humble beginnings. On July 1 1962 a groundbreaking ceremony took place. The new location was Lots 1 and 16 of block B in the Truman Heights Subdivision. Rev Howard remained pastor until 1967. After much prayer Rev RD Reese took the reins. He served faithfully from 1967 to 2005. His leadership guided Rehoboth through decades of growth. Rev Homer Cyphers served as interim pastor. Then Rev RA Hendricks became pastor.

Under Rev Hendricks’s leadership many ministries flourished. The Men’s Ministry Health and Wellness Ministry and Food and Clothing Ministry were established. A Children’s Church also began. Rehoboth celebrated its 50th Golden Jubilee Anniversary in 2013. The church continues to thrive. It boasts over 130 members a testament to its enduring appeal. Rehoboth Baptist Church stands as a beacon of faith in Austin. It’s a place where community thrives and God’s love is shared. The church’s legacy continues to inspire. Its A-frame structure isn’t just a building. It’s a symbol of faith perseverance and the power of community.
