They believed Hasto and Harun were involved in a bribery case related to parliamentary seats. As the KPK team surveilled their targets, they paused for evening prayers at Masjid Daarul ‘Ilmi. However, their presence was noticed, and they were questioned by PTIK officers. This unforeseen interruption foiled the operation, allowing Hasto and Harun to evade capture. The incident at Masjid Daarul ‘Ilmi became a significant turning point in the investigation. The KPK’s attempt to apprehend Hasto and Harun within the PTIK complex, momentarily disrupted by prayers at Masjid Daarul ‘Ilmi, ultimately failed.
