This tumultuous period saw the monastery’s power diminish, and Klein Wesenberg came under the jurisdiction of the Reinfeld Amt. Life in those days was vastly different. The village bore witness to the end of serfdom in 1743, a significant social shift. Then, the landscape of power shifted once more as Prussia annexed Schleswig-Holstein in 1867. Klein Wesenberg, along with the surrounding region, became part of the newly established Stormarn district.
