“A parish in Villa Park?” A reference librarian mentioned something of the sort, a prior claim that led to a name change for this very church, Saint Alexis Roman Catholic Church. Back in 1922, this church stood on Wood and Rose Streets. It was first named St. Alexander’s.
But by 1926, the name had to change. Another parish already claimed the name St. Alexander’s. That’s how it became Saint Alexis Roman Catholic Church. The Saint Alexis family is a community. God blessed them with a diversity of cultures and languages. They celebrate this richness.

On Saturdays, Mass is at 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm in Spanish. Sunday Masses are at 8:00 am and 11:00 am in Spanish and 9:30 am. Daily Masses occur too. Tuesday through Friday, there’s a 7:30 am Mass in English. Wednesdays and Fridays feature a 9:00 am Mass in Spanish.
Saint Alexis Roman Catholic Church has other services as well. On Mondays and Fridays, there is a Communion Service at 7:30 am. Tuesdays and Thursdays also have services at 7:30 am. First Saturdays feature a Spanish Mass at 10:00 am. Last Saturdays offer an English Mass at 10:00 am.
