What whispers do these walls hold? We are standing before Derslikler B Blok. It stands as a testament to Istanbul’s rich academic history.

Derslikler B Blok is more than just a building. It’s a hub of knowledge at Yildiz Technical University. It stands within the historic Yildiz Merkez Kampus. This campus has roots that stretch back centuries.

Once, this land was a hunting ground. Ahmed I built a small kiosk here. Later, Abdulhamid II moved to Yildiz Palace in 1877. He felt unsafe at Dolmabahce Palace.

Yildiz Palace became the fourth palace. Ottoman sultans resided here permanently in Istanbul. It grew into a vast complex. It included gardens, pavilions, and administrative buildings. The campus covers about 500.000 square meters.

Important structures like Hünkar Dairesi became part of Yildiz Technical School in 1937. Today, it serves as the Rectorate building. Other buildings like Çukur Saray also serve the university.

Yildiz Technical University has multiple campuses. These are Yildiz Merkez, Davutpasa, and Ayazaga. Each campus offers unique facilities.

Derslikler B Blok is located on the Yildiz campus. Here, you will find the Bilgi İşlem Daire Başkanlığı. There is also the Yildiz Çatı Restaurant. The Merkez Laboratuvarı is also in this block. Students attend classes in the Derslikler.

Important courses take place in B Blok. Students gather here weekly. They come to expand their knowledge. The classrooms buzz with energy.

The history of Istanbul itself is layered. It dates back to Neolithic times. Around 6700 B.C., settlements flourished here. The city was first known as Byzantium. A Greek colonist named Byzas founded it around 657 B.C.

In 330 A.D., Emperor Constantine the Great dedicated the city. He made it the new eastern capital. He renamed it Constantinople. It became a vital trade route. It connected Asia and Europe. The Hagia Sophia was one of the architectural wonders.

The Byzantine era saw both highs and lows. Constantinople became a center for Christian scholarship. Its walls protected it for centuries. The Fourth Crusade in 1204 brought temporary capture. Byzantine rule was restored in 1261.

In 1453, Sultan Mehmed II conquered Constantinople. It marked the end of the Byzantine Empire. The Ottomans transformed the city into an Islamic center. They renamed it Istanbul.

Under Ottoman rule, Istanbul thrived. The Topkapi Palace and Blue Mosque were built. The Grand Bazaar became a bustling center.

In the 19th century, the Ottoman Empire declined. Ankara became the new capital in 1923. Istanbul remained a cultural and economic hub.

Today, Istanbul is Turkey’s largest city. It is a vibrant mix of history and modernity. The Bosphorus Bridge symbolizes connectivity.

Derslikler B Blok stands as a modern piece of this historic puzzle. It supports the city’s future through education. The legacy of Istanbul continues. It echoes through every lecture within these walls.
