Have you ever wondered about the journey of a church? Northwest Missionary Baptist Church, standing tall before us, is a testament to faith, resilience, and the power of community. Founded in 1974 as The Baptist Temple, the church began its journey with Pastor Harry Jackson, a man driven by a vision to reach lost souls and disciple them in God’s Word. The church’s modest beginnings saw them renting space in a Northbrook school before finding a spacious home in Riverwoods. The church found their permanent home in Prospect Heights in 1985. With the arrival of Pastor Keith Gomez, who was invited to fill the pulpit for one Sunday and never left, the church flourished. The church’s growth led them to their current location in Elgin in 1995, featuring a 45,000 square foot campus. Today, Northwest Missionary Baptist Church stands as a beacon of hope, a symbol of unwavering faith, and a source of strength for the community.
