Ever tasted the finest Danish pastries? The Copenhagen Hospitality College is where culinary dreams are baked. This isn’t just any school. It’s Northern Europe’s largest hospitality college a hub of culinary excellence and service mastery.

It all began humbly around 1920. Restaurateurs gathered to share their knowledge. Their classroom? A schooner named Constance. Imagine the rocking sea the aroma of baking bread mixing with the salty air. As their teaching expanded the Ministry of Education officially recognized their craft. In 1922 the Restaurant Industry Apprenticeship School was born.

Soon the schooner proved too small. The college moved to the Copenhagen Institute of Technology and later to Kongedybet on Amager. Growth continued. In 1980 it officially became the Copenhagen Hospitality College. It relocated to Kødbyen the meatpacking district. A fitting location for a school renowned for its culinary prowess.

The 1990s saw a surge in students. A new campus opened on Niels Hemmingsensgade. Kødbyen focused on culinary arts while Niels Hemmingsensgade handled administration and hospitality studies. Finally in 2010 all the students and staff were reunited on a single campus in the Aller Press building in Valby.

Today the Copenhagen Hospitality College trains thousands of students. They learn to be chefs waiters hotel receptionists and more. Many graduates work in top restaurants and hotels around the world. The college’s legacy continues to grow. It remains a testament to the dedication of those early restaurateurs aboard the Constance. Their vision created a culinary institution that thrives to this day. So here we are standing before a monument to hospitality. It’s more than a school it’s a culinary journey waiting to unfold.
