The building was acquired by the BBW Leipzig group. They had a vision to transform it into something truly special. They invested nearly 4.5 million euros in renovations. The result is an inclusive haven. It now functions as a thriving integration hotel a venue for cultural events and a place of worship.
The Philippuskirche boasts a stunning 62.5 meter high tower. Its neo-baroque dome is a striking feature of the Lindenau neighborhood. Inside the church you’ll find the original Jehmlich organ. This beautiful instrument is still in its original state. It was carefully restored in a project that took years to complete.
Restoration wasn’t only for the organ. The church’s magnificent chandelier received a meticulous restoration. It’s a unique piece crafted specifically for this space. Weighing almost 500 kilograms it was carefully taken apart cleaned and reassembled. The Philippuskirche also has four steel bells cast in 1909. These are the only remaining bells of their kind in Leipzig. They ring out messages of hope and faith. The church even holds 692 seats offering ample space for large gatherings.
