The church believes God loves and accepts everyone. He created and sustains the world. God knows us intimately and loves us totally. Nothing can make God love us less. The Bible teaches that all humans have sinned. They have lost the desire to serve God. They cannot save themselves. God still loves us. He desires fellowship with us. John 3:16 says God gave his only Son. Everyone who believes in him may not perish. They will have eternal life. Through Jesus’s life death and resurrection we become children of God. We receive the sure hope of new life beyond death. This brings us into heaven.
Shoreline Christian Reformed Church believes in the Triune God. This includes the Father Son and Holy Spirit. God is our loving powerful heavenly Father. He created heaven and earth. All that is good and beautiful points to God. Humans can know something about God through creation. Jesus of Nazareth was both human and God’s Son. He fulfilled Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah. He died on a cross to save us from our sins. Jesus took his place in heaven as Lord of all things. He will come again to make all things new.
When Jesus ascended to heaven he promised a comforter. This is a source of power. It would lead them into all truth. This gift was the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has dwelled in and empowered God’s people. The Holy Spirit is the presence and power of God with us. He leads the church. He unites God’s people. He applies God’s forgiveness. He speaks to us. He spurs us to godly living.
Shoreline Christian Reformed Church affirms three creeds. These include the Apostles’ Creed the Nicene Creed and the Athanasian Creed. They also affirm three confessions.
