Can you imagine a school where pupils were rewarded with medals for perfect attendance and where a Punch and Judy show could get a classroom of giggling kids back to the books? This is Fulham Primary School on Halford Road. Built in 1894, Fulham Primary was one of the first schools in London to provide meals for the poor. Imagine a school packed with children, some even freezing in winter without enough food. They were so thankful for the warm soup and bread that the school provided. The school also boasts a rich history with a remarkable teacher, Mr Wade. He was so popular with his students and their families that upon his death, they raised money to install a brass panel in the hall with his name on it. This panel remains in the top hall to this day. And there’s a charming story about a young boy named Harry Goode, a gifted footballer, swimmer, and runner. He was sadly taken ill and died at the young age of 14. Though Fulham Primary is no longer a community school but an academy, it still retains a sense of community and tradition. The school is known for its commitment to providing a well-rounded education.
