It was a humble “markhus”, a kind of administrative building for the grand Marselisborg Estate. After a rebuild, it was reborn as “Marselisborg Jægergaard” – a much grander name for a grander structure. Now, this Jægergården you see before you might be new, but the administrative legacy? That’s been here since the very first “Jægergård”. Imagine, a time when Aarhus was just a small city huddled behind its protective gates. This spot, where Jægergården stood, was out in the countryside. It housed those tasked with managing the estate – the forest rangers, the widowed, and those retiring from service.
