Darul Ummah Goresbrook acquired this masjid in March 2019. The cost was around £600000. This included refurbishment. The community gradually started and increased activities at the centre. Darul Ummah Goresbrook is more than just a mosque. It’s a house for the community. It offers a range of activities and services.

Five daily prayers are held including Jummah. There is a Children’s Maktab for evening and weekend studies. Weekly gatherings include a Brothers Circle Youth Circle and Sisters Circle. The mosque partners with the Safer Neighbourhood Team. They organize monthly litter picks. There is also a Community Road Watch. Coffee mornings are held providing a social hub. Plans are underway to start a Food Club. It will support those financially struggling.

The mosque’s imams and teachers are dedicated individuals. Sheikh Bodrul Hussain teaches Arabic Language Tafsir of the Quran and Fiqh lessons. He also helps translate Arabic texts into English. Hafiz Emdadur Rahman was one of the first imams. He led Taraweeh Salah during the COVID lockdown year. He manages a communal kitchen for homeless people. He also runs the Little Litter League. Ustadh Faizul Islam is one of Darul Ummah Goresbrook’s Khateeb. He teaches the Quran class for adults. Ustadha Jesmin teaches at Darul Ummah Academy Goresbrook. She holds a degree in Political Science. She completed a six-year course on the traditional Dars Nizami syllabus.

Darul Ummah Goresbrook welcomes everyone. It is located just off Lodge Avenue at 36 Maplestead Road. The mosque is currently working to pay off its Qarde Hasana. This is a loan to support the house of Allah. The outstanding amount is £135300. Donations are encouraged to help support the mosque.
