“Have you ever wondered where the heart of a community beats?” I ask gesturing towards the Masjid Jami’ Sa’adatul Muslimin. This mosque stands as a testament to faith and unity in East Jakarta. Masjid Jami’ Sa’adatul Muslimin is more than just a building. It is a focal point for the surrounding community.
Located on Jl. Komodor Halim Perdana Kusuma Gg. Masjid, this mosque serves the people of Kebon Pala and Halim Perdana Kusuma. Specifically, it unites the residents of RW 01, RW 07, and RW 08. Masjid Jami Sa’adatul Muslimin is the main mosque in this environment. It hosts significant events such as the prayers for Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.
H. M Saman generously donated the land on which Masjid Jami’ Sa’adatul Muslimin stands. The mosque now covers an area of 580 square meters. The building has two floors. It includes three ablution areas. There is also a secretary’s office and an imam’s room.
Currently, Masjid Jami’ Sa’adatul Muslimin hosts weekly recitations. These take place after the Maghrib prayer. On Monday nights, Ust Imam Baihaqi S.Pd.i leads the session. Tuesday nights feature Habib Ali Murtadho Al Athos. Wednesday nights are led by Ust Ahmad Fauzi Marzuki, S.Th.I. Additionally, KH Muhammad Gus Faiz, MA, gives a lecture after the Subuh prayer at the end of each month.
The Masjid Jami’ Sa’adatul Muslimin also organizes events for children. Most recently, it held competitions for elementary school students. These events drew participants from RW 01 in Kebon Pala and RW 07 and RW 08 in Halim. The competitions took place on March 24, 2024.
Masjid Jami’ Sa’adatul Muslimin is a place where faith, education, and community converge. It continues to serve as a vital center for Muslims in East Jakarta.
