Have you ever felt the thrill of standing on a mountaintop, the wind whipping through your hair, and the world stretching out before you like a vast, detailed map? Today, we’re at the Hohe Köpfe, a mountain peak in the Rätikon mountain range. The Hohe Köpfe is a popular destination for hikers, offering stunning views of the surrounding Alps. It is a dramatic peak and is actually two summits, the northern and southern peaks. The northern peak is marked with a simple cross. It is quite interesting to know that the altitude of the northern summit has been recorded as 2040, 2045 or 2048 meters above sea level on various sources which makes the actual height a bit of a mystery. The southern peak is the higher of the two, reaching a height of 2066 meters. You can see the surrounding alpine landscapes and far beyond. From the top of the Hohe Köpfe, you can see the Ulm Minster, about 140 kilometers to the north. You can even spot the Black Forest in the northwest, about 160 kilometers away. The views are really breathtaking! On the west side of the Hohe Köpfe, you can find the Spirkenwäl-der Saminatal, a European nature reserve.
