“Grou00df Mist and Klein Mist.” The names echo with a hint of forgotten tales, don’t they? You see, what we now call Grou00df Neuleben, nestled in the gentle hills of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, once bore a different name: Grou00df Mist. This quaint hamlet, along with its smaller sibling Klein Mist, existed as separate entities until a fateful day in 1956. On that day, the two villages, each with its own history and identity, were merged. They were reborn under a new name: Neuleben, meaning “new life”. The merger ushered in an era of unity, blending the stories of Grou00df Mist and Klein Mist into a single narrative under the banner of Neuleben. But in the grand tapestry of history, even “new life” evolves. In 1991, Neuleben, including our Grou00df Neuleben, became part of the larger municipality of Lu00fcdersdorf. Despite these transformations, the spirit of the past lingers on.
