In 1958, a new chapter began in Kasuga’s educational landscape. The 市立春日北小学校 (Kasuga City Kasuga Kita Elementary School) opened its doors as the Kasuga Elementary School North Branch. Initially, it housed only first and second graders. Just a year later, in 1959, it expanded. It welcomed students from first through fifth grade, becoming a full-fledged elementary school with 630 eager children. Today, as you stand before Kasuga Kita Elementary School, imagine those early days. Picture the flurry of activity as this vital community hub came to life. Kasuga Kita Elementary School stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of community collaboration. The school’s history is etched into the very fabric of Kasuga. In 1972, Nogizaka Elementary School branched off from Kasuga Kita. This further solidified Kasuga Kita’s role in nurturing generations of students. The school continued to grow and adapt to the changing needs of its students. A gymnasium was completed in 1964, and a pool followed in 1970. These additions provided valuable resources for the children’s physical development. As the years passed, Kasuga Kita Elementary School underwent further transformations. In 1999, Hinode Elementary School split off. This event marked another significant change in the school’s history. Kasuga Kita Elementary School embraced community involvement early on. The school established a Community and School Collaboration in 1984, fostering a strong connection between the school, families, and the local community. This collaboration continues to thrive, enriching the educational experience for every student. Kasuga Kita Elementary School isn’t just a school.
