The Trident began its life as the San Francisco Yacht Club in 1898. The Kingston Trio purchased the space in 1960. They transformed a jazz club called the Yacht Dock into something far more iconic. By 1966, The Trident emerged as a natural food restaurant and music venue. Celebrities like Janis Joplin and Jerry Garcia flocked here.
Now, let’s talk about a drink. Have you heard of the Tequila Sunrise? The Trident’s very own bartender, Bobby Lozoff, reinvented it here in the early 1970s.
