“A kaleidoscope of color?” a child’s voice chirped. “Is that what Imagisphere means?” The Imagisphere Childrens Museum is a place of wonder. It’s where imagination takes flight. While the specific name “Imagisphere” might not have a direct translation, it perfectly captures the essence of the museum’s mission. This museum isn’t about static displays. It’s about sparking creativity and inspiring young minds. Now, the original Moody Family Children’s Museum at the Perot Museum, which houses the Imagisphere, has undergone a transformation. It reopened in May 2025 with an expanded space. This space is almost double the original size. The renovation includes exciting new additions. There is an expanded Toddler Area for the littlest explorers. There’s a Makery where kids can tinker and engineer their own creations. There’s also an immersive Imaginarium and a larger outdoor area. The outdoor area has features that were big hits in the original space, like the Dino Dig. Children can dig for dino bones in the enclosed sand pit. They can also marvel at the mini Dallas skyline. Another popular feature is the live critter exhibit. Here, children can observe a variety of fascinating creatures. The renovated space seeks to build on the original museum’s strengths. It stimulates imagination and encourages bilingual learners. It wants to create an environment where anything goes and children can chart their own course through discovery.
