Around you stands a testament to faith. It is a beacon in Jakarta’s Pluit neighborhood. This is Gereja Pantekosta Jemaat El Uzay.

Gereja Pantekosta Jemaat El Uzay is more than a building. It is a community. It is a place of worship. Its story is woven with dedication and divine inspiration.

Let’s step back to November 8th. It was a day of celebration for the congregation. It was the dedication of their new church building. The ceremony was marked by a siren. Wakil Ketua I Majelis Daerah DKI Jakarta GPdI, Pdt MPH Bolang pressed the siren’s button. A red curtain was drawn back. It revealed the words “Gereja Pluit Muara Karang, Jakarta” on the building.

The celebration continued. A group of pastors and members approached the entrance. Ketua II Majelis Pusat Sinode GPdI Pdt DR Freddy Pattirajawane cut the ribbon. He represented Ketua Umum MP Sinode GPdI Pdt DR Markus Daniel Wakkary. Pdt DR Markus Daniel Wakkary could not be there. Gembala Sidang GPdI ElUzay Pdt DR John Weol unlocked the church. Dirjen Bimas Kristen, Oditha R. Hutabarat, signed the inauguration inscription. The congregation held a thanksgiving service on the second floor.

The dedication service’s theme was “Jesus is The Center.” It was taken from Romans 11:36. It states: “For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever. Amen.”

Pdt DR John Weol shared the church’s origin. Bambang Prayitno had the initial vision. John Weol embraced the vision. He presented it to the church board. They responded positively.

The first meeting led to a team. They raised 1.7 billion in funds. The team secured permits. They developed architectural plans for the 3000 square meter land.

The church can seat 1000 people. Pdt John Weol hopes the congregation will seek new souls. He asks that they do not disturb other believers.

Hengky Gosal reported that the church was built. Ninety-five percent of the funding came from the congregation. GPdI Eluzay and GPdI Taman Aries and church sympathizers helped.

Pdt Freddy Pattirajawane conveyed apologies. Ketum Pdt MD Wakkary could not attend. He had to attend a church dedication in Timika, Papua.

Freddy highlighted three key points for the congregation. First, they should keep Jesus Christ central. Second, the church should deliver true teachings. These teachings should help members grow. It should develop them within the 95-year-old GPdI doctrine. Third, the church should produce powerful prayers. They would be for God’s people, nation, and country.

Dirjen Bimas Kristen Oditha R Hutabarat expressed gratitude. She was thankful for the construction of GPdI Eluzay. She added that the Holy Spirit moved members. It inspired them to participate in constructing the church building.

GPdI El Uzay offers various services. These cater to all age groups. They aim to let everyone experience God through His Word. Services are held in Pluit and T. Aries. There are Sunday school services. These guide children to love and be like Jesus. Youth services equip young people. They help them become militant in Jesus. They become a light to the world. There are also services for men. These help them become warriors of God. Women’s services aim to make women love God and their families.

GPdI El Uzay is not just a place. It is a family. It is a community united in faith. It is a testament to what can be achieved. This happens when a vision is embraced and pursued with dedication. Gereja Pantekosta Jemaat El Uzay stands as a symbol. It is a symbol of faith, unity, and service in the heart of Jakarta.
