Have you ever heard of a place where history intertwines with spiritual energy? Pura Pasek Toh Jiwa Tanggun Titi in Denpasar is such a place. Pura Pasek Toh Jiwa Tanggun Titi is more than just a temple. It’s a historical landmark. It’s a cultural treasure. It’s the heart of the community in Tangguntiti. The history of Pura Pasek Toh Jiwa Tanggun Titi is a tale of bravery, unity, and divine guidance. It begins with Ki Pasek Badak, also known as Ki Pasek Wanda. Ki Pasek Badak, a descendant of I Gusti Pasek Tohjiwa Dimadya, refused to bow to the King of Mengwi. He left Buduk and embarked on a journey to Tangguntiti. His son, Pasek Toh Jiwa Tangguntiti, continued his father’s legacy. Pasek Toh Jiwa Tangguntiti’s journey began at Enjung Semulungan. Here, he meditated and sought direction. His next stop was Jakatebel, where he found the strength to unite the region. Through skillful negotiation aided by Patih Jati, he brought together the warring factions previously ruled by the “Para Ngakan”. This act earned him the honored title of “Jero Gede Teges”. At Miu, he discovered the “Gong Siem,” now known as “Jero Gede Siem,”. This gong became a symbol of his authority and the spiritual center of the community. The King of Tabanan, impressed by Pasek Toh Jiwa Tangguntiti’s achievement, granted him control over Tangguntiti. He bestowed upon him the right to use Puri symbols. He designated him as an advisor, solidifying his role as a leader. Pura Pasek Toh Jiwa Tanggun Titi stands as a testament to this history. The two “Umah Tua,” or traditional houses, Jeroan Gede Tangguntiti and Jeroan Gede Jakatebel, were built for his two sons. They served as symbols of the family’s continued influence in the region. One focused on governance, under the Kerambitan Puri. The other focused on social, cultural, and religious matters, under the Tabanan Puri. This division of responsibilities ensured the community’s well-being. Pasek Toh Jiwa Tanggun Titi shaped the village’s structure. He established the five main sacred sites: Pura Luhur Semulungan, Pura Dukuh Sakti Sapujagat, Pura Miu, Jeroan Gede Tangguntiti, and Jeroan Gede Jakatebel. He organized the community into three distinct groups, bringing order and harmony to the region. He established the Tri Kahyangan temples, Pura Ngider Buana, and Geriya Gede Tangguntiti, further strengthening the village’s spiritual foundation. Pura Pasek Toh Jiwa Tanggun Titi echoes with the whispers of history. It serves as a reminder of one man’s courage and vision. It’s a place where the past and the present converge.
