Amidst the bustling energy of Jakarta, discover the tranquil oasis of Mesjid Ar-Raudhah. Mesjid Ar-Raudhah translates to “Garden of Paradise,” a fitting name for this serene sanctuary. Officially inaugurated on September 6, 2024, by Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono, Mesjid Ar-Raudhah stands as a testament to community collaboration. Its construction, completed in just six months, was a joint effort, funded with approximately 8.8 billion rupiah, without using the regional budget. Located on Jalan TB Simatupang, in the Ragunan area of South Jakarta, Mesjid Ar-Raudhah offers a welcome respite for prayer and reflection. Previously, the only mosque in the vicinity of the Ministry of Agriculture was only open to the public for Friday prayers. Now, Mesjid Ar-Raudhah serves the local community, including those visiting the nearby Ragunan plant nursery market. The mosque’s design incorporates Betawi architectural elements, notably the distinctive “gigi balang” ornamentation. Within its 500-square-meter prayer hall, Mesjid Ar-Raudhah can accommodate around 400 worshippers. The mosque also features ample parking, a canteen, and kiosks selling plant seedlings, contributing to the local economy. Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono envisions Mesjid Ar-Raudhah not only as a place of worship but also as a hub for religious education, economic development, and social activities. The mosque stands as a symbol of synergy between the Jakarta Provincial Government, regional-owned enterprises, the Baznas (BAZIS) DKI, the Mosque Welfare Council (DKM), and the community. It represents a comfortable and inclusive space for Muslim worship in South Jakarta.
