In 1920, a new Catholic presence emerged in Hampton Hill. This marked the humble beginnings of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. The first church building, a relatively simple structure, was completed in 1928. St. Francis de Sales served the growing Catholic community for nearly four decades. The current church building, a modern structure completed in 1966, replaced this earlier building. The architects, Burles, Newton & Partners, left their mark on numerous Catholic churches across London and the South East. Their design for St. Francis de Sales showcases their signature style: clean lines, extensive use of glass, and a distinct Blessed Sacrament Chapel with triangular projections. The church’s warm and welcoming atmosphere is often noted by visitors. The exceptional acoustics enhance the services, from Mass to choir performances. The church holds daily Mass, with additional services on weekends. Beyond the regular Mass schedule, St. Francis de Sales offers various other services. These include confessions, baptisms, weddings, and funerals. St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church remains a vibrant center of faith and community in Hampton Hill.
