“Do you believe in miracles?” a passerby asks, their voice barely audible above the city’s hum. “Because this place,” they gesture towards the unassuming building, “Jesus der Weg, is where I found mine.” Jesus der Weg, tucked away in the northern Munich neighborhood of Feldmoching, doesn’t boast grand architecture or a centuries-old history. Yet, its story is one of faith, transformation, and the power of community. It all began in 1997, not within these walls, but in the warmth of Franny Bosch’s home. A small group, seeking spiritual connection, gathered, laying the foundation for what would become Jesus der Weg. The church blossomed, outgrowing its humble beginnings. In 2003, the congregation, now around 40 strong, found a new home on Waldmeisterstrasse, the very spot where we stand today. Their dedication was evident in the tireless effort poured into renovations, from the essential fire escape to a welcoming café, a testament to their belief in creating a space for fellowship. Today, Jesus der Weg, a beacon of hope and belonging, continues to embrace its diverse community, offering services in both English and German. It’s a reminder that sometimes, the most profound journeys begin in the most unexpected places. And perhaps, if you listen closely enough, you might just hear whispers of those miracles, echoing within these very walls.
