“Steel and speed. That’s what Gotham demands.” Prepare yourself to confront Batman: The Ride. It is located in Six Flags Over Texas. This inverted coaster is based on the DC Comics character Batman.

Batman: The Ride opened here on May 26, 1999. But the story of this ride began long before that. Jim Wintrode, Six Flags Great America’s general manager, conceived the inverted coaster concept. He collaborated with Bolliger & Mabillard and engineer Robert Mampe. The original opened in 1992.

Our Batman: The Ride in Dallas is a clone of the original design. It shares its layout with other Six Flags parks. This includes Great America and Magic Mountain. The cloning of rides was new at the time.

Before you board, notice the themed queue area. It is designed as the interior of the Wayne Foundation. It adds to the immersive experience. The main entrance is themed to Gotham City Park. Even the Batmobile sits proudly outside.

Now brace yourself. The station floor retracts. The inverted train ascends the lift hill. Get ready for a thrilling plunge. Batman: The Ride sends you down a 190-degree swoop. Experience five inversions. Feel the wind as you reach speeds of 50 mph.

This Batman: The Ride stands 105 feet tall. The drop height is 87 feet. The track spans 2,693 feet. Yellow track and midnight blue supports define the ride’s colors. Each train has eight cars. Each car holds four riders. Over-the-shoulder restraints keep you secure.

Did you know Batman: The Ride ran backward for a limited time in 2014? This special event celebrated its 15th anniversary. Touring backwards trains made their way to Six Flags Over Texas.

In 2017, on-ride video capabilities were added. Guests could capture their thrilling experience. In 2023, the ride received a fresh paint job. This keeps it looking its best.

Batman: The Ride is an inverted coaster. The trains travel under the track. This design intensifies the ride experience. Prepare for loops and corkscrews. The ride exerts up to four times the force of gravity.
