Founded in 1919, Wimbledon Common Preparatory School stands before you. It started as a place for local gentry’s children in Wimbledon Village. It was also a preparatory school for King’s College School. This established a tradition of academic excellence.

The Wimbledon Common Preparatory School’s story began humbly. Miss Whiting, described as a sweet and charming lady, was the Principal. The school was first located in the basement and ground floor of 45 High Street. This was its humble start.

In 1957, Wimbledon Common Preparatory School found its permanent home. It acquired a fine building on the Ridgway. The school is opposite King’s College School. This location offers attractive and spacious grounds.
