Beneath the Seattle sky stands OneLife Community Church. It is a place with a story etched in its walls. OneLife’s journey is one of transformation and community.
In 1954 this very spot saw the birth of Maple Leaf Baptist Church. Alfred F. Simonson designed its original structure. Imagine the families who first gathered here full of hope.
Over time Maple Leaf Baptist evolved. In 1972 a merger brought the Brookhaven congregation from the University District. With them came a new name Brookhaven Baptist.
The winds of change blew again. In 1994 the church revitalized. It adopted the name Anchor Baptist inspired by Hebrews 6:19. This verse speaks of hope as an anchor for the soul.
Yet another chapter unfolded. In 2004 Anchor Baptist reorganized and moved. The building at 3524 NE 95th Street stood ready for a new beginning.
Finally in 2012 OneLife Community Church found its home here. Affiliated with the Assemblies of God denomination OneLife embraced its role.
OneLife extends its hand to diverse groups. Educators musicians scientists and artists all find a place here. Students parents programmers and designers contribute to the vibrant mix.
The church welcomes singles children and youth. Some are seeking work. Others have lifelong church experience. Many are returning after years away. Some have never been to church before. Believers skeptics seekers and even cynics are all part of the OneLife family.
