On a seemingly ordinary street in Harvey, Illinois, stands the extraordinary Spiritual Israel Church. A beacon of faith and resilience, this church holds a story that began not in a grand cathedral, but in the humble setting of a young boy’s front porch. Spiritual Israel Church’s journey is a testament to the power of faith and community. In 2005, an eight-year-old Isaiah Simpson, following a divine calling, started hosting bible conversations with two friends on his porch. This simple act of faith marked the birth of Spiritual Israel Temple of Christ. As the years passed and the congregation grew, so did their need for a larger space. From a porch to a garage, affectionately dubbed “The Garage Church,” Spiritual Israel continued to thrive. By 2014, the congregation had outgrown the garage, a testament to their growing numbers and the power of their shared faith. The church found a new home on East Lincoln Highway in Chicago Heights. Yet again, God’s blessings led them to even larger spaces, ultimately guiding them to their current location on East 147th Place in Harvey. Spiritual Israel Church, in its relatively short existence, has become a testament to the power of unwavering faith and dedicated community. More than just a building, it’s a vibrant hub where lives are transformed, and the gospel message resonates powerfully within its walls.
