Beneath the vast Texas sky, the Inspiring Body of Christ Church stands as a beacon of faith. It’s more than just a building; it’s a testament to the vision of Pastor Rickie Rush and nine other founders. They began this journey in 1990, holding their first service in October of that year. The Inspiring Body of Christ Church quickly outgrew its initial space. In 1991, they acquired their first building, the former Southern Bible Institute. Their journey continued, leading them to their current magnificent location in 2009. This sprawling 176,000-square-foot facility sits on a 36-acre campus, a testament to their growing congregation. The Inspiring Body of Christ Church is not your typical church. It houses a remarkable feature: the largest privately owned aquarium in the United States. Imagine 75,000 gallons of water teeming with life, a captivating sight that even caught the attention of Animal Planet’s show, “Tanked.” But there’s more to this church than its impressive size and unique features. It’s a place where community thrives. In 2017, a historic moment unfolded within these walls as Veteran Dallas County Deputy Tracey Gully was sworn in as Dallas County Precinct 1 Constable. This marked the first time an African-American woman held this position in Dallas County. The Inspiring Body of Christ Church also serves as a sanctuary for those in need. In November 2021, it hosted the funeral service for Ezra Blount, the youngest victim of the Astroworld Festival tragedy. This church isn’t just a place of worship; it’s a pillar of the community, extending its support beyond its walls. They’ve donated turkeys and food boxes during Thanksgiving, offered rental assistance to senior citizens, and created programs like the All Male Leadership Academy. The Inspiring Body of Christ Church embodies its name, inspiring not just faith but also action and compassion in the Dallas community.
