Stepping inside the world of diplomacy, we find ourselves before the Ambassade de Monaco in Paris. This isn’t just another embassy. It’s a beautiful townhouse nestled in the 16th arrondissement, at 22 Boulevard Suchet. The Ambassade de Monaco has graced this location since 1984. Before Monaco’s presence, this very building housed the engineering genius Marcel Dassault, founder of the Dassault Aviation group. Later, it served as the Syrian Embassy until 1980. Now, it stands as a symbol of Monaco’s diplomatic ties with France. The Ambassade de Monaco is headed by H.E. Ms. Valérie Bruell-Melchior, the accredited Ambassador. She leads a team of diplomatic professionals, including Mme Martine Garcia, Director of the Fondation de Monaco and First Secretary. The team also includes Counsellor Ms Clotilde Ferry, First Secretary Ms Sybille Projetti, and Second Secretary Ms Alice Pastor. The building itself is a testament to architectural elegance. A four-level structure, it boasts an Art Deco style, a creation of architect André Hott in the 1930s. The interior, decorated by Jacques de Veyrac-Paulhan, further enhances its charm. This Ambassade de Monaco stands as a physical embodiment of the long-standing relationship between Monaco and France. A relationship that dates back to 1641, marked by the Treaty of Péronne between Prince Honoré II of Monaco and King Louis XIII of France. This treaty acknowledged Monaco’s freedom and sovereignty. The Ambassade de Monaco serves as a reminder of this historical connection, a bridge between two nations.
